CARES Act: COVID-19 Training

CARES Act: COVID-19 Training

Overview

The fiscal year 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) provides one-time funding to help current Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) recipients prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Activities

MATEC’s approach is a combination of local and region wide activities, sharing and coordination. We conduct local and regional activities, based on needs assessments and discussions with Ryan White A and B partners. The approach allows for flexibility to tailor MATEC’s response as the pandemic continues and is addressed. The plan incorporates training and technical assistant efforts targeted to HIV treatment and care organizations, as well as individual clinicians and other HIV care professionals so they are prepared to assess, test, diagnose, treat and limit the spread of COVID-19 among people with or at risk for HIV. Training efforts include didactic, interactive, case-based discussions and clinical consultations efforts to be delivered remotely (via online learning platforms and/or telephone) and in-person when appropriate and feasible.
