HIV Interprofessional Education Program

HIV Interprofessional Education Program

The HIV Interprofessional Education Program (HIPEP), is a regional HIV Interprofessional Education (IPE) collaborative that includes four University-based IPE academic programs. MATEC develops, implements, and evaluates interprofessional team-based training programs for health professions students to prepare a workforce which is ready and able to optimize care and outcomes for persons with HIV/AIDS. HIPEP is led by the University of Illinois Chicago - Collaborative for Excellence in Interprofessional Education (UIC-CEIPE) and MATEC’s Central Office. Also included are University of Cincinnati, Interprofessional Education; University of Minnesota, Interprofessional Practice and Education; and University of Wisconsin-Madison, Interprofessional Health.

HIPEP develops training programs applicable for medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, behavioral health, social work, public health, and allied health at UIC and at regional IPE partner institutions.
